Anime fans rejoice! Gaming social media platform Twitch has partnered up with anime website Crunchyroll to bring the first ever continuous five-day animation marathon, featuring 15 different popular anime series across 120 hours of programming.
The huge streaming event will kick off on 27 July at 11.30pm and run right through to 1 August.
The marathon will be live streamed through the TwitchPresents live content channel – meaning enough Japanese ‘magazine’ magic to keep the most die-hard fans well and truly entertained.
The full programme schedule will be released on 21 July but in the meantime, organisers have revealed that popular shows Yuri on Ice, Mob Psycho 100, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, and Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers are to be included in the bill.
Make sure you have your sleeping bags and popcorn at the ready!
Twitch’s Annie Berrones said of the marathon event: ‘Anime content on Twitch always sparks a lot of positive feedback from our community given how gaming and anime culture have borrowed a lot from each other.
‘By partnering with Crunchyroll for our first ever anime marathon and featuring more than 15 different series over the course of five days, we will be able to tap into this passion of our community in a much more robust fashion than ever before.’
